Argentina and Colombia will contest November’s Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Play-offs after stellar showings at the Americas Group I event in Cucuta secured their passage to the competition’s next level.

Two-time semi-finalists Argentina were the standout nation on show, winning all five of their ties and losing just one match in the process – against Peru in their penultimate tie of the event.

Colombia also performed with distinction on home soil – or clay, more appropriately – and lost just one tie, against Argentina, which was more than enough to advance to the Play-offs.

When Argentina and Colombia next take to the court in November, they will be fighting for a place in the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers.
