Italian captain Tathiana Garbin is "confident" in the team she has named for the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals.
Italy, who are making their first appearance in the new-look women's world cup of tennis finals format, will feature Martina Trevisan, Camila Giorgi, Lucia Bronzetti, Jasmine Paolini and Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
"It is a difficult group," said Garbin about her team's draw in Group A. "Both Switzerland and Canada are competitive opponents. In any case, I am confident because I am convinced that my girls with the national team can find additional resources.
"I know they care about doing well and are always super motivated. For them taking the field with the blue shirt is something unique, they feel it a lot. And it has been seen in the latest challenges.

Italy will take on Switzerland on 9 November with Canada following the very next day. Only the top teams from each group will advance to the knock-out stage.
