Gauff to star for formidable USA at Billie Jean King Cup Finals

Top 10 stars Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff will headline a strong USA team at next month’s Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals in Glasgow.
World No. 6 Pegula and No. 8 Gauff will be joined by world No. 18 Madison Keys, No. 19 Danielle Collins and doubles world No. 32 Taylor Townsend in Kathy Rinaldi’s team.
Gauff is set to make her debut in the women’s world cup of tennis four years after leading USA to the junior team title, while Townsend is also a former winner of the junior version of the event – winning the title-clinching match in the 16-and-under competition in 2012.
Veronika Kudermetova, Daria Kasatkina, Lucie Safarova and Barbora Strycova are the only players to have won both the Billie Jean King Cup and the Junior Billie Jean King Cup since 2001.
They may boast a formidable team but USA face a challenging group, having been drawn against 11-time champions Czech Republic and Finals debutants Poland in Group D. Only the top team from each of the four groups will advance to the semi-finals.
