France to host Play-off tie against Netherlands

The International Tennis Federation has announced that the Billie Jean King Cup Play-off tie between Netherlands and France on 11-12 November 2022 will now be hosted by France.

The Billie Jean King Cup Committee voted in favour of accepting a request from the Dutch federation (KNLTB) for France to host the tie. The committee noted that the KNLTB had worked hard to find a solution after a cancellation by their intended venue for the tie. However, the replacement venue submitted by the KNLTB (the National Tennis Centre in Amstelveen) did not meet the Billie Jean King Cup minimum hosting requirements.

The two teams will compete for a place in the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers in 2023. Netherlands are considered to have exercised their choice of ground for this tie, and thus France will also host the next meeting between the two nations.

The ITF and the FFT will make an announcement regarding the venue for this tie in due course.
