Czech Republic captain Petr Pala has overseen a glorious period in his nation’s Billie Jean King Cup history with the Czechs claiming six titles in the women’s world cup of tennis since 2011.

When the 46-year-old was appointed captain in 2008, very few could have envisaged the level of Czech dominance that was about to unfold, or that he would still be in position more than a decade later.

During this time, Pala has worked with an illustrious list of players who have all contributed to their nation’s success, while the strength and vibrancy of Czech Republic tennis has been highlighted time and time again.

Pala is the most successful captain in the competition’s history, and he recently sat down for a chat with billiejeankingcup.com, during which he was shown a series of clips from his time as captain.

As he reminisced, he was visibly moved, while the pride and passion he feels for the players who have represented Czech Republic with such distinction is abundantly clear. These are Petr Pala’s memories…..one captain, six trophies.
