<p>Few athletes have impacted world sport in the way Billie Jean King has, and that applies to this competition more than most. BJK's lasting imprint is best summed up by the fact the tournament is literally now named in her honour.</p><p> </p><p>As a 19-year-old, she competed in the winning USA team at the inaugural Federation Cup event at Queen's Club, London back in 1963. She has been wrapped up in its history ever since. King has lifted the trophy more than any other person in history, with 10 wins as player and captain.
