The International Tennis Federation has suspended the Russian Tennis Federation and Belarus Tennis Federation from all international team competition until further notice

“The International Tennis Federation (ITF) condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and its facilitation by Belarus. In addition to the cancellation of all ITF events in those countries, the ITF Board has today announced the immediate suspension of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) and Belarus Tennis Federation (BTF) from ITF membership and from participation in ITF international team competition until further notice. 

The ITF remains in close contact with the Ukraine Tennis Federation and stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.”

Russian and Belarusian teams will no longer compete in Billie Jean King Cup events in 2022, and thereafter, while the suspension remains in place.

Belarus had been due to compete in a Billie Jean King Cup Qualifier against Belgium on 14-15 April. Belgium defeats Belarus by walkover and will progress to the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

Russian Tennis Federation had qualified for the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Finals as 2021 champions but have been withdrawn from the 2022 competition.
