Netherlands have confirmed that their rescheduled Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Play-Off tie with China, P.R. will be held at the Maaspoort Sports & Events Centre in s’Hertogenbosch as originally planned.

The rearranged home-and-away Play-Off ties, initially scheduled for February 5-6 2021, will now be played on April 16-17 2021, the same week as the Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Finals in Budapest, which will take place from 13-18 April 2021.

Netherlands and China, P.R. will be competing for the chance to progress to the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers in 2022. The eight losing nations will compete in their respective regional Group I event next year.

“The Maaspoort in Den Bosch is a top sports venue where we have good experiences – it has hosted several Fed Cup and Davis Cup matches in the past,” said Jacco Eltingh, Technical and Commercial director of the KNLTB.

“Due to the current situation in the Netherlands, we do not yet know if crowds can be present at the tie. But we will of course make sure that tennis fans do not miss anything of this showdown with China.”

The tie, just the second Billie Jean King Cup meeting between the sides, will played on indoor clay. China, P.R. won the nations’ previous clash, a 1983 World Group First round tie in Zurich, Switzerland.
