Heart Award voting opens for 2024 Finals and Play-offs

Fans are invited to have their say to decide which of the nominees will take home a prize for charity as the vote officially opens for the Billie Jean King Cup Heart Award following the recent Finals and Play-offs
Four players from both events have been shortlisted so now it’s up to fans to decide who will win either a $10,000 or $3,000 cash prize for a chosen charity.
Voting will run for one week across the Billie Jean King Cup website and social media channels, with the winners being announced on Tuesday 17 December.

Finals shortlist
Lucia Bronzetti (ITA)
Won the opening match in both the semi-final against Poland, defeating Magda Linette, and the final against Slovakia, overcoming Viktoria Hruncakova, to steer Italy towards their fifth Billie Jean King Cup title.
Jasmine Paolini (ITA)
Guided Italy to a fifth Billie Jean King Cup title, winning four of the five matches, with her only defeat coming against Poland’s Iga Swiatek. Partnered Sara Errani to win two decisive doubles matches in the quarter-finals against Japan and semi-finals against Poland and defeated Slovakia’s Rebecca Sramkova to seal the title.
Emma Raducanu (GBR)
Won all three matches she contested at the Finals as Great Britain reached the semifinals for the second time in three years. Defeated Germany’s Jule Niemeier, Canada’s Rebecca Marino and Slovakia’s Viktoria Hruncakova without dropping a set.
Rebecca Sramkova (SVK)
Won three of the four matches she played to lead Slovakia into the final, defeating USA’s Danielle Collins and Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic in straight sets before coming from behind to beat Great Britain’s Katie Boulter in the semi-finals. Fell to Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in the final.
Play-offs shortlist
Belinda Bencic (SUI)
Won two matches as Switzerland eased to victory against Serbia, in just her second competitive event since returning from maternity leave. Defeated Lola Radivojevic in the first match of the tie and partnered Jil Teichmann to victory in the doubles match. It was her first appearance in the competition since leading Switzerland to the title in 2022.
Beatriz Haddad Maia (BRA)
Won all three matches she played as Brazil defeated neighbours Argentina to secure a place in the 2025 Qualifiers. Came from a set down to defeat both Julia Ortenzi and Solana Sierra in singles before partnering Carolina Alves to win the decisive doubles match.
Camila Osorio (COL)
Won all three matches she played without dropping a set as Colombia claimed a famous victory against France. Defeated both Clara Burel and Varvara Gracheva in singles before partnering Emiliana Arango to a decisive doubles triumph against Burel and Chloe Paquet.
Clara Tauson (DEN)
Won two of the three matches she played during Denmark’s 3-2 victory against Mexico. Defeated Giuliana Olmos in straight sets before losing in three tight sets to Renata Zarazua in the reverse singles. Played alongside Emilie Francati in a decisive doubles match, recovering from a set down to defeat Olmos and Zarazua.
The Billie Jean King Cup Heart Award aims to recognise players who have represented their country with distinction, shown exceptional courage on court and demonstrated outstanding commitment to the team.
The 2024 Finals winner will receive $10,000 for their chosen charity, while the Play-offs winner will receive $3,000 to be donated as they see fit.
